90’s Bar Crawl

Calling all 90’s babies!!

This is an event in Houston you do not want to miss.

Last year was a blast and I have even bigger hopes for this year as the bar crawl becomes even more popular. For all of my Fresh Prince lovin’, converse wearing, NSYNC jammin’ people out there, it’s time to get nostalgic. Saturday, June 17th is Houston’s 90’s Bar Crawl throughout the bars of Washington street for people who want to jam out to the top hits of the 90’s, wear some throw-back gear, & get discounted drinks. Your ticket allows you access to drink specials, a signature cup, and a complimentary “welcome” drink. (must be redeemed before 5:30pm) For more of the rules and FAQS, here’s the link to their site to help you out.

But for the more important topic….What to wear!?! I’m here to share with you my wisdom from my previous 90’s Bar Crawl and tell you where the best shops in Houston are to snag your 90’s gear.

Refer to 90’s TV shows, Characters, bands, and Celebrities for your 90’s outfit inspo. Last year, I saw anything from laid back crop tops & high waisted jeans, to full on Power Ranger/Ninja Turtle costumes. So there’s a wide variety of options for you but I personally think it’s more fun to go all-out! (but that’s cause I’m extra af) For a casual look, you can’t go wrong with choker necklaces, denim jackets, and over-sized t-shirts with high-water jeans. My favorite area for Vintage finds is Montrose, Houston TX. Below is a list of rad shops you should check out.

Htown shops for vintage 90’s gear:

  • Lo-Fi vintage (1629 Westheimer Rd)
  • Buffalo Exchange Houston (2901 S Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77098)
  • Pavement Houston Clothing (1657 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77098
  • My Flaming Heart (3622 Main St, Houston, TX 77002)

So round up the gang, call the uber driver, and PARTY ON!!!

  1. Love this! Don’t forget about the grunge look. Kurt Cobain and all the flannel shirts. The androgynous look was already in back in the 90s. Girls were wearing their boyfriend’s clothes. Girbaud jeans and flannel shirts.
